Tungsten Carbide
Tungsten Carbide also known as cemented carbide, refers to a sitered composite composed of at least one metal carbide. Grainsize of carbide compo-nent (or phase) Typically between 0.2 and 10 microns, the carbide grains are bonded together using a metalbinder. The binder usually refers to metallic cobalt (Co), but for some special Oher uses, nickel (Ni),iron (Fe), or other metals and alloys can also be used.
Tungsten Carbide has a series of excellent properties such as high hardness, wear resistance, strength and toughness,heat resistance and corrosion resis-tance, especially its high hardness. And wear resistance, aven at 500° C, remains essentially unchanged, still with high hardness at 800℃.
